Flyweight prospect Maycee Barber is due to return on Feb 13 at UFC 258. The 27-year-old Alexa Grasso is set to be her next opponent.

Barber, a former participant of Dana White’s Contender Series, lost her last bout against Roxanne Modafferi. She broke her leg in a bloodied fight in addition to finding herself on the wrong end of a unanimous decision.

This was the flyweight prospect’s first professional loss. Before that loss at UFC 246, Barber managed to earn 3 TKO wins in the UFC.

Grasso moved up to flyweight in her last bout. She faced Ji Yeon Kim in her divisional debut and managed to earn a unanimous decision win.

The Mexican fighter previously has had issues with making the Flyweight limit. She infamously came 5 pounds overweight against her proposed bout, Claudia Gadelha.

Grosso (12-3) is inconsistent in her record. She hasn’t gone on a winning streak for over 4 years. A fight against Barber will be nothing short of a tough matchup, despite the latter’s loss in her last outing.

As for Maycee Barber, she remains to be one of the hottest prospects in the women’s flyweight division. TKO finishes of Hanah Cifers, J.J Aldrich, and Gillian Robertson marked an impressive start to Barber’s UFC career.

At only 22 years of age, she has years of fighting left in her. She has been touted as a future title contender by almost everyone who has seen her fight. Slated to go up against Grosso, Barber will surely be itching to get back in the win column.
