Ribas last fought Marina Rodriguez at UFC 257. After competing well in the 1st round, she got overpowered by Rodriguez conceding a TKO loss in the 2nd round.

Prior to that, she was riding high on confidence having picked up 4 wins on the trot. Her career record now stands at 10-2 with 3 KO’s, 4 submissions, and 3 decision victories.

In contrast, ‘Overkill’ has recorded 13 wins and 9 losses in her career. Her last match earned her a victory against Ashley Yoder with a unanimous decision after 3 rounds. Prior to that, she lost back-to-back matches against Michelle Waterson and Claudia Gadelha, both via split decision.

Amanda Ribas vs Angela Hill analysis

Hill is more of a volume striker and isn’t one of the power punchers. This should work for Ribas as her recent loss came via KO.

Ribas focuses more on takedowns and Hill uses kick-punch combinations that could help her immensely if she could capitalize on the opening.

If we look at Amanda’s career stats, she averages 4.25% significant strikes landed per minute with a striking accuracy of 44%. She has 58% takedown accuracy and a more superior take-down defense of 85%. Despite her loss in the last match, she landed 35 total strikes and ate 26 total strikes.

Hill will be wary of Amanda’s takedown efficiency and would want to keep this fight on the foot as much as possible. She is swift in her movements and can be lethal from a distance.

Her fighting style is a combination of Muay Thai and Alliance MMA footwork. She tends to get aggressive at times but would want to negate this as much as possible against Ribas. Once the match reaches the canvas, it may be all over for her.

‘Overkill’ lands 5.66 strikes per minute and has 50% accuracy over it. Although she averages a much less takedown percentage of 36%, she has an accuracy of 76% over it. She had a total of 97 strikes in the last match while eating just 53 from her opponent.

With 62% of her wins coming via decision, it’s no surprise she would like to take this fight all the way. Ribas, on the other hand, has a size advantage with a longer reach and a more balanced game.

Final Prediction: Ribas to claim victory via submission in Round 2
