UFC Fight Night: Uriah Hall vs Anderson Silva had a rocky weigh-in. While the two fighters on the marquee came in fine, the card under them saw its fair share of trouble. The Halloween card will serve as Silva’s send-off from the sport of MMA. The resurgent Hall will look to play spoilsport to the retirement party, adding another loss to Silva’s legendary career.
But the weigh-in has caused some ripples through the card. Notably, Greg Hardy became the first man in UFC Heavyweight history to miss weight. He weighed in at 266.5 pounds, .5 above the maximum allowed weight and 1.5 over the 265-pound limit. Hardy cut down to 264.5 to keep his purse intact for his fight against Maurice Green.

Welterweight Cole Williams showed up 4.5 pounds over the weight limit for his fight against Jason Witt. The two prelim card fighters weighed in over the allowed 170 pounds, but Witt was just over by .5 and thus made weight for the fight. Williams will give up 40% of his purse to Witt.
The biggest issue of the weigh-ins came from Priscila Cachoeira, who reportedly came to Abu Dhabi 30 pounds over the Flyweight limit. Her opponent Cortney Casey did not weigh-in, with the fight being scrapped prior.
UFC Fight Night off to a rocky start?
This was a particularly bad weigh-in compared to UFC events prior to this one this year. While there have been plenty of fighters who have struggled with making the weight, including Khabib Nurmagomedov for his last fight against Justin Gaethje, we haven’t seen three fights affected before this.

Hardy is one of the bigger names on the card because of his prior NFL stardom and has had another bad moment. From being disqualified in his debut to using an inhaler mid-fight, Hardy’s controversial weigh-in is yet another negative indicator for his future.
Priscila Cachoeira can probably expect a call from the UFC soon. However, the call may not be positive. She was 1-3 in the UFC heading into this event, and this dramatic fail at making weight will not do her any favors. Same with Cole Williams, who lost his first and only UFC fight.
