Anderson Silva has been in the sport for over two decades now. ‘The Spider’ has been a part of different organizations before eventually calling UFC home. In his time as a fighter, Silva has achieved everything one could have dreamt of and much more. He has entered the rarified air of ‘GOAT’ conversations.

Anderson Silva and retirement; Conor McGregor gives his thoughts
Leading up to his fight, many fans and pundits alike felt that Silva was past his prime, and retirement would be the best option for the Brazilian fighter. However, Conor McGregor disagreed. ‘The Notorious’ replied to a Tweet by a fan and provided his thoughts on Anderson’s performance and potential retirement.
Sad to see tonight, but I say keep going! Real fighters never lose that fire so why try to force it out? Simply put time into finding the correct competition and continue on. The right competition is out there, for all levels and ages. Find it and do what you love to do! Forever! https://t.co/qFvPtCQuVE

Conor holds a completely different point of view as compared to the majority of the fans and pundits. Silva is on a three-fight skid and has won just one of his last nine fights. At 45, age is not on his side either. ‘The Spider’ has achieved everything possible in the sport, and retirement seems apt now.
