Ahead of the fight, ‘Bigi Boy’ and Sakai sat at #6 and #9 respectively in the heavyweight division. A positive result for either fighter would have helped them take a massive leap forward in a division that is on fire right now. Rozenstruik made this huge leap forward.

The fight started out at a relatively slow pace as both men initially felt each other out. However, as the bout progressed, ‘Bigi Boy’ started landing more of his offense. Towards the end of round one, Rozenstruik clipped Sakai with a left hook as he was circling away from him. This immediately dropped Sakai to the floor, and the referee stepped in after ‘Bigi Boy‘ landed a few unanswered strikes.

Going into the fight, Rozenstruik was 1-2 in his last three outings. A win against Junior Dos Santos was sandwiched in between losses to Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane. ‘Bigi Boy’ took on a colossal risk by going against a dangerous knockout artist in Sakai.

However, Rozenstruik proved once again why he is considered one of the scariest knockout artists in the division. His left hook that barely grazed Sakai’s chin ended the fight. Now, after a quick night at the office, Rozenstruik will be aiming to get back in the octagon as soon as possible to extend his win streak.
