UFC Vegas 35 will take place this weekend with some exciting talents showcasing their skills. A featherweight clash between Edson Barboza and Giga Chikadze headlines the event. There is another main card match that could excite fans. The hyped bout takes place between middleweights Bryan Battle and Gilbert Urbina.

Battle will make his UFC event debut after cutting his teeth in the local promotions. The TUF contender picked up a win in his last promotion against Ben Fowler in HRMMA via submission. He has so far picked up 5 wins and incurred 1 loss professionally. Out of those 5 wins, 1 each has come via T(KO) and decisions and 3 via submissions.

Urbina will also make his UFC event debut after applying his trade for other local promotions. Just like Battle, he too made his name after featuring in the TUF season. He has so far picked up 6 wins and incurred 1 loss. Out of those wins, 1 has come via T(KO), 2 via submissions, and 3 via decisions.

This wasn’t the original Finale matchup. Battle, who represented Team Volkanovski, would have fought Tresean Gore, the last man from Team Ortega. Urbina got the call after the latter injured his knee. Urbina fell to Gore in the semifinals and thus finds him in a lucky loser spot.

Bryan Battle vs Gilbert Urbina- Analysis

Urbina knows his strength lies on the canvas, which helped him move past Micheal Gillmore in the quarterfinals. Battle, meanwhile, is not a pushover. He got past Andre Petroski, the most skilled and physically stronger wrestler on the show, by wearing him down, outclassing, and ultimately submitted him in the second round.

Urbina was reluctant to shoot against Gore and thus could struggle against Battle in that aspect. So, it leaves us to the striking prowess. Battle has a clear edge in this field too, despite Urbina being the taller of the two. If Urbina could improve his feet and grapple, he might hold his own, but that doesn’t seem to be happening at this point.

Final Prediction: Battle via unanimous decision
