Francis Ngannou is one of the most dangerous men in the UFC. The heavyweight contender has won 10 of his 12 fights in the promotion, all by devastating finishes. His most recent fight was in May at UFC 249, headlined by Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje. Ngannou won by KO in just 20 seconds of the first round.
Not many people would dare challenge ‘The Predator’. However, on Ngannou’s latest video on his YouTube channel, there seemed to be a challenger. Local comedian, Hoga Le Pichichi, was shown in Francis’s video, ‘Francis Ngannou Foundation: For Cameroon’.

“Francis Ngannou, I challenge you! I’ve been looking for you!” Hoga was shown screaming at the camera. He carried on saying, “Francis Ngannou, where are you? Don’t pretend to be deaf! I challenge you! You knocked a guy out in seventeen seconds. I swear to God, I’m going to knock you out in eight seconds. Trust me, get out of here.”

With the video cutting to ‘The Predator’, Ngannou went on to say, “I have a problem to solve in Cameroon. Hoga officially challenged me to a fight. Challenge accepted.”
Francis Ngannou explained, “The first time I got Hoga’s video, it was sent to me by Ivaha Dibousa, the governor of the Littoral Region. I told him that I was familiar with Hoga’s work and that it was exactly the type of event that I wanted to organize, to promote combat sports locally and also motivate kids from the foundation.

“In Cameroon, it’s a shame that I’m the only person people talk about.” Ngannou is always surrounded by fans and media when he goes back home. He continued, “People who struggle every day, who don’t have the opportunity to express themselves or at least get recognition as a reward for all the hard work they put in everyday.
“Also, it allowed people to get to know these underground fighters and indirectly brought light to our sport. This is my sport and this could make it grow in the future so that local kids can make a living from it, instead of risking their lives pointlessly, going to Europe, potentially for nothing.”

The fight took place in front of a crowd following safety protocols. Ngannou and Hoga would showcase their in-ring skills, but ultimately it was ‘The Predator’ who earned a submission victory over the comedian. Ngannou believes events like these will help shine a light on combat sports in his country and encourage the youth of the region.
