VIDEO: Insane One-Punch Knockout by Ike Villanueva at UFC Fight Night on Fight Island

The UFC’s run on Fight Island has been incredibly successful thus far. UFC Fight Island 7 produced some incredible fights and a Fight of the Year candidate.

UFC Fight Island 8 got off to an incredible start with some good fight and kept the momentum going. On the main card, Ike Villanueva took on Vinicius Moreira in the light heavyweight division. 

Both men are currently unranked in the division, and the fight was an excellent opportunity for both men to work their way towards a rank at 205-pounds.

Hurricane Ike’ could not have asked for a better performance tonight as he stopped a dangerous adversary in Vinicius Moreira.

The finishing sequence saw Moreira throw a kick followed by a right hand. Just as his right hand was about to land, Villanueva timed a perfectly placed right hand that landed flush on the chin.

As soon as his punch connected, Moreira fell to the ground, and the referee stepped in before any further damage could be inflicted.

Villanueva has not had the best possible start to the UFC. He succumbed to a loss on his debut against Chase Sherman and succumbed to another loss in his 2nd fight against Jordan Wright.

‘Hurricane Ike’ is a hard hitter and has secured a mind-boggling 83% of his wins via TKO. He could not have asked for a better way to register his first win in the UFC. Over the course of the fight, he landed 24 significant strikes with an accuracy of 43%. 

Villanueva joins a stacked light heavyweight division. He fought twice last year and started off 2021 with a spectacular win over a formidable opponent.

He will be aiming to build on this wing and secure a few wins under his name if he has to get into the Top-15 of the light heavyweight division and eventually challenge for the title.
