Now, the former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson recently mocked his great rival Khabib Nurmagomedov through an animated video. The American took to Twitter and wrote a post along with a video showing him defeating the undefeated Dagestani warrior.

Ferguson has been calling out Khabib since he announced his retirement last year. ‘The Eagle’ bid adieu to his beloved sport after successfully defending his undisputed lightweight gold against ‘The Highlight’ Justin Gaethje at UFC 254.

He retired with the undisputed gold and also the undisputed win-loss record of 29 wins and 0 losses. ‘The Eagle‘ has continuously denied a return to the octagon and instead has been focussing on mentoring his pals like Islam Makhachev and Umar Nurmagomedov.

Khabib wants Tony Ferguson to retire after suffering 3 consecutive defeats

Ferguson (25-6), lately is going through a torrid time. The former interim champion has dropped 3 consecutive matches against 3 elite opponents. He was riding a 12 fight win streak before he eventually met his match against Gaethje at UFC 249. ‘The Highlight’ dominated ‘El Cucuy’ and ultimately picked up a TKO win.

His next two defeats came against submission specialists like Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush. Both fighters picked up a unanimous decision win at UFC 256 and UFC 262, respectively.

Recently, Khabib assessed Ferguson’s situation and advised him to retire from the game as he no longer possesses the threat to topple elite opponents.

“He is 38. Tell me, how he can come back? He was dominated last three fights,” Khabib said. “Different styles, a striker, a grappler, Dariush, Oliveira, Gaethje. They all was dominating him.”

“In stand up or on the ground. 38 years old, I think it is time to stop. There should be people next to him that could say that he must stop because of the age. It is not an easy business. Especially when you are not a young man,” Khabib added.
