Colby Covington has been an ardent supporter of President Donald Trump since day one. The 32-year-old fighter also holds the Trump family in high regard.
We rarely see him without his “Make America great again” cap. The self-proclaimed “America’s champ” and Donald Trump’s “favorite fighter” has been vocal about his support for the US President since 2016.
After his interim title fight in 2018 against RDA, Colby proved that he was a man of his word. In the build-up to the fight, Colby had mentioned that he would be visiting the White House to place the belt on the President’s desk – a promise he fulfilled.
The Trump family has reciprocated Colby’s unabashed support. The likes of Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr were present front row for his fight against Robbie Lawler. They continue to voice their support for the former interim champ through social media
On September 13, the Keystone Corp held a reception for President Trump. The event had special guests such as UFC President Dana White and Former Interim Welterweight Champion Colby Covington. The likes of “Triple C’’ Henry Cejudo and current lightweight interim champion Justin Gaethje were also special guests for the evening.
Colby Covington recently shared a video on his Instagram with President Donald Trump. In the video, Trump showed his support for Colby saying, “I’m going to be watching Colby, I’m a big fan of Colby. He is a winner, He is a champ and it’s going to be a great evening and a great fight. I wish him the best of luck. I’ve just seen him a lot and he is tough. Good luck champ.”
Covington will face the former welterweight champion Tyron Woodley this coming Saturday. Tyron Woodley is on a two-fight losing streak. Colby, on the other hand, fought for the title last time, losing to current champion Kamaru Usman. The winner of this fight will be in prime position to challenge Usman for the belt once again.
Who do you think comes out victorious on September 19th? Colby or Woodley?
