Jon Jones is still in the middle of heated negotiations with the UFC to book a fight against Francis Ngannou for the Heavyweight Championship. This will be his debut in the division and is possibly the biggest fight the UFC could book. While it may not sell the same as a Conor McGregor card, but this fight could have historic impact.
Jones winning the HW title in his debut over a monster like Ngannou would almost solidify his case as the greatest fighter in MMA history. Meanwhile, if Ngannou beats him, his case among the all the time greats will also become stronger. Jones knows what’s at stake, and despite the negotiation issues, he is still gearing up to be in shape.

Jones looks much bulkier now than he has ever done. The size increase looks fitting for a Heavyweight and he is raring to go. He made his name as a lean giant in the 205 division. Jon Jones and Dana White are just doing a negotiating dance right now. White told Jones to move down to 185 and then said he doesn’t ‘want’ the fight.
But Jones putting up these videos and showing his progress to the world allows him to build his case as someone who wants to fight, but only if his value is matched. Francis Ngannou seems excited to face Jones, reportedly turning down a fight against Derrick Lewis in June. But, if Jones and White cannot agree on the negotiating table, the UFC will find a way to book Lewis into the super-fight instead of Jones.

The more this drags on, the more people will question whether Jon Jones wanted to fight Ngannou. It looks bad for his legacy, and White knows that. But will Jon Jones give up his legacy for value? Or vice versa? We will have to see.
