WATCH: Jorge Masvidal Set to Star in His First Movie

Jorge Masvidal was a relatively unknown fighter up till 2019. However, a stellar run saw him rise from ‘just another fighter’ to one of the biggest names in the UFC. After a long layoff, Jorge returned to the octagon and stopped Darren Till in the second round.

Masvidal then knocked out Ben Askren in record-breaking fashion. He followed that up by headlining one of the biggest cards in UFC history against Nate Diaz and winning the ‘BMF’ belt. His spectacular rise in 2019 has been rewarded with multiple opportunities both inside and outside the octagon.

Jorge Masvidal is now a movie star

Cassius Corrigan, the director of the upcoming movie Huracan, took to Twitter to share a trailer for the same. The movie is a psychological thriller about an aspiring mixed martial arts fighter who suffers from Multiple Personality Disorder.

The clip shows a young man’s struggles as he aims to get to the top of the MMA world while dealing with his inner demons. It also presents Jorge Masvidal as an established fighter who the protagonist eventually ends up fighting.

While it is not new for MMA stars to feature in films, it’s definitely a novel experience for ‘Gamebred’. The Miami native has unlocked a host of opportunities for himself for all the hard work put into the sport. From starting his own liquor brand to gracing the cover of EA Sports UFC 4, it has been a good year for him.

Most recently Jorge also took part in a rally with President Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. The activities are just a sign of people outside the UFC recognizing his star power and viewing him as more than just a fighter.

Masvidal is now rumored to make a return to the octagon before the year ends. He will most likely be facing former friend and teammate turned bitter rival, Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington. However, there is no confirmation on the same. Nonetheless, MMA fans will hope they get to see this fight before the year ends.
