The UFC as a promotion has grown into a behemoth over the years. What initially started out as an unknown promotion has now morphed into one of the biggest sports, not just in the United States, but in the world, period. 

This has allowed people from all walks of life and different countries to get into the world of MMA and earn a living by competing in the UFC. Leon Edwards is one such athlete. ‘Rocky’ was brought up in an area infested with crime, violence, and drugs. Edwards spiraled into that world until his mother urged him to join a local MMA club. After joining the MMA club, Edwards turned his life around and became an astute martial artist. 

Leon Edwards has been reaping the rewards of his decision and has decided to share his good fortune with the ones that matter the most to him. A recent video posted by Edwards himself, shows him gifting his mother a white Mercedes SUV. Edwards’ mother was in disbelief as she asked multiple times if it was her car. ‘Rocky’ also posted a video of his mother driving the car with music blasting and a big smile on her face.

What is next for Leon Edwards?

Edwards recently extended his win streak to 9-0 after a unanimous decision win over fan-favorite Nate Diaz in his last outing. Many believed that he deserved the title shot after that win. However, it was recently confirmed that Colby Covington would take on Kamaru Usman for the belt. Therefore, Leon Edwards will have to win another fight before he can challenge for the title.

At the moment, there are no concrete reports on who could be next for the British fighter. However, Edwards has, on social media, called out the likes of Jorge Masvidal for a fight. ‘Gamebred’ however, was not a big fan of the idea, to say the least.
