The UFC is known to house some of the toughest men in the world. While not everyone is the stereotype of a rugged fighter, many of them do enjoy what people would assume they do. This includes some of them doing a lot of things that may appear crazy to us, but completely normal to them. Khabib Nurmagomedov wrestling a bear as a kid, anyone?

Merab Dvalishvili seems to be an outdoorsman himself. This is why the rising UFC Bantamweight decided to take a trip to a frozen lake near him. He got a friend to start filing and would strip down in the freezing cold to jump into the frozen lake. However, Merab didn’t seem to calculate how frozen the lake was.

Merab Dvalishvili basically jumped into a block of ice and seemed to pay the price. He put up pictures of him being completely bloodied up because of the incident, cracking his head open.

Merab was supposed to fight on this weekend’s card but had his fight postponed due to his struggles with COVID-19. Now some time will be tacked on to that with this possible head injury.

UFC Bantamweight Division: Where does Dvalishvili fit in?

Merab is currently ranked #12 in the division and is many people’s pick to be the breakout star of 2021. While he had a rough start to his UFC career, he is currently on a five-fight win streak. His last win came over former UFC title challenger John Dodson. He was scheduled to face Cody Stamann on the card headlined by Alistair Overeem and Alexander Volkov.

Merab will most likely be rescheduled to face off against Stamann whenever possible. However, it is unclear if this goof-up will cause a genuine setback to his return plans. It seems he has recovered enough from COVID to try something like this, so his fight return isn’t too far off.
