Stephen Thompson is possibly the nicest fighter in the UFC. He has often campaigned to be awarded the ‘Nicest MF-er‘ title after the UFC introduced the ‘BMF’ title last year.
However, he is anything but nice in the cage. The former Welterweight title contender is one of the purest strikers in MMA right now, with his flashy kicking style capturing eyes around the world.
However, none of us really gauge the strength of Thompson’s kicks by watching them in fights. So, Thompson decided to give everyone a better peek when he connected with leg kicks on bodybuilder Houston Jones.

Jones put out a video with Stephen Thompson in which the pair test out kicks. They first do it on a 100-pound kicking bag, which Thompson knocks over with his first kick. Thompson then kicked Jones with differing levels of intensity throughout.
He used his weak foot to inflict the kicks, and Jones was wincing at about ‘30% power’. Ultimately, Jones’ thigh was heavily bruised, and he fell to the mat after a barrage of kicks by Thompson.
The video was in good humor, but it is genuinely scary to see the smiling ‘Wonderboy’ having the ability to kick one of the strongest men in the world into a heap on the ground.

Thompson hasn’t fought since his UFC 244 win over Vicente Luque. He had rebounded from a particularly bad loss to Anthony Pettis, who superman punched him into a second-round knockout.
Now he gets a chance to make it 2 wins on the bounce. He will be facing Geoff Neal at UFC Fight Night 186. That card is being headlined by Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev.

It wasn’t long ago that Thompson was on the verge of becoming Welterweight champion over Tyron Woodley. However, their first fight was a draw, and the second went to Woodley.
Thompson hasn’t fought for a title since, falling to fighters like Darren Till along the way. A win over Neal could be a good launching point for another title push for Wonderboy. At the age of 37, his championship window is closing.
