

UFC welterweight Belal Muhammad left former UFC dual division champion Daniel Cormier stunned by his verbal jab on live television. The incident happened when both the fighters were discussing the main event of UFC Vegas 36 between Darren Till and Derek Brunson on ESPN show.

Cormier, who has taken up an active role as an analyst, has been giving his views on fighters. Seldom he has been left awestruck by another analyst, but Muhammad had him covered this time around.

The latter was discussing the technique that has made Till so successful. But Cormier mocked him with some verbal pokes. However, the American was ready for it.
“Darren Till, he is very measured in his approach, he doesn’t sit there and throwing hopes. He aims at the fire,” Belal said. Cormier then stopped him midway and jokingly said, “you ready to pay champ? Are you ready to pay?… That’s straight work by the champ. Just know it.”

A smiling Belal added, “As you can see, Darren Till, he doesn’t sit there and throw, close his eyes, uhh gotta come from an under hook, overhead right, knockout Stipe Miocic (referring to DC’s win over Miocic at UFC 226).”

Till (18-3)will be eager to fight as his latest results, coupled with injuries, have stopped his juggernaut a bit. A fight against Brunson won’t be an easy way to get into the winning column, but Belal believes Till has every tool to succeed in this fight.

“As you can see, Darren Till is a very smart striker. He doesn’t go out there and just let out all of his gas tanks early in the fight. He doesn’t have a high volume, but he is very smart, very powerful, very picky when he chooses to throw his strikes,” he added.
