Dariush will head into his match against ‘El Cucuy’ on the back of six straight wins. His win streak started in 2018 when he fought Thiago Moises and won the match via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 139. His next win came against Drew Dober via submission at UFC Fight Night 146.

He then fought and picked up a submission (rear-naked choke) win over Frank Camacho at UFC Fight Night 162. An impressive KO victory over Drakkar Klose followed it at UFC 248.
He picked up an astonishing spinning back fist KO over Scott Holtzman at UFC Fight Night 174. Last, he defeated Diego Ferreira via a split decision in their rematch earlier this year.
First to defeat the undefeated Diego Ferreira
Ferreira, prior to fighting Dariush, was undefeated in 11 professional fights. Dariush had entered their bout at UFC 179 as an underdog. But little did Ferreira knew that he would be stretched harder in this fight.
After displaying impressive grappling skills in the match, he defeated Ferreira via unanimous decision to end an impressive streak. He again defeated him in their rematch earlier this year.
Beneil Dariush moved to America when he was 9 years old
Dariush was born on May 6, 1989, in Hamadan, Iran. Their life back in Iran wasn’t very good and the entire family had to move to the USA to provide a better life for their children.
In America, Dariush had a massive joint family, and he had over twenty cousins. The family indulged themselves in farming and along with his education; he helped his father and uncles with agriculture, which helped him achieve an athletic build early on.
Undefeated prior to joining UFC
Before joining UFC in 2014, Dariush had applied his trade for Respect in the Cage, High Fight Rock, and Samurai Pro Sports promotions in a period between 2009 and 2013.
In 4 of those matches, he had picked up wins in the first round itself- a trait of him that made him destined for big success going ahead.
He even held the RITC lightweight championship and defended it once before his move to UFC.
Involved in charity work

Dariush has been vocal about giving back to society after struggling during his initial days. He had donated a generous sum for the 2010 Haiti earthquake survivors. He is still actively sending money to the poor Assyrian people in the Middle East.
In his next fight, Dariush will be up against one of the best fighters of all time in Tony Ferguson. He will hope to add the big fish into his victory juggernaut and continue his march towards title opportunity.
