The main event at UFC 267 featured a bout between Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira for the light heavyweight belt. Blachowicz ushered in a new era at 205-pounds with a knockout win over Dominick Reyes at UFC 253. He then defended his belt against Israel Adesanya before taking on a fight against Glover Teixeira. 

Teixeira, on the other hand, is living proof that age is just a number. The Brazilian fighter became a champion in his second shot at UFC gold (his first UFC title fight came in at UFC 172 against Jon Jones) at the age of 42. This was his second shot at a UFC title.  

Things started off well for Teixeira, who landed a takedown inside the first minute of the fight. The Brazilian was able to inflict a good amount of damage from on top. The second round was a much better round for the champion who initially stuffed takedowns, only to be taken down later on in the round.

Once Teixeira secured a takedown, he was able to secure the back and flatten out his opponent. He then wasted no time in securing a rear-naked choke. With the win, Teixeira became the oldest first-time champion in UFC history. 

In his post-fight interview, Teixeira stated that he will be needing some time off from the sport to celebrate his win. However, Teixeira revealed that he would look to return in May and defend his belt against Jiri Prochazka.
