2021 was a great year of fight action for all UFC fans. There were seven new champions, countless jaw-dropping knockouts, and a plethora of upsets that kept fans entertained.
With 2021 in the rearview mirror, the matchups are coming in thick and fast as the UFC prepares for the first half of the new year. The most recent fight announcement features fan-favorite light heavyweight Johnny Walker as he returns to UFC action.

The light heavyweight, who sits at #10, will take on the 12th ranked Jamahal Hill at a UFC Fight Night on February 19. Both fighters will be aiming to kick off 2022 in style and advance further up the rankings.

Johnny Walker vs Jamahal Hill promises to be a cracker of a fight for UFC Fight Night in February
Johnny Walker burst onto the scene with four straight wins. Three of the four wins came via knockout, which skyrocketed his popularity among UFC fans. However, since then, Walker has had a tough time in the UFC. The Brazilian knockout artist has lost three of his last four fights. Hist most recent outing was a unanimous decision loss to former title challenger Thiago Santos in October 2021.

Hill, on the other hand, has a much better record going into the fight. He has won two of his last three fights. His most recent win was a jaw-dropping knockout over Jimmy Crute in December 2021.

Going into the fight, Walker will have a two-inch height advantage and a massive three-inch reach advantage. There is no secret that both men will be looking to keep the fight on the feet given that is where they’re the strongest.
Hill has landed 7.45 significant strikes per minute in his UFC career and has absorbed just 3.68 in return. Walker, on the other hand, has landed 3.42 significant strikes per minute whilst absorbing 2.81 in return.

It will be interesting to see which fighter is able to land more of their offense without receiving much damage. Given their numbers and form, it is hard to imagine this fight going the distance.
