Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou is a fight that most fans in the UFC will probably have as their number one dream matchup at this point in time. A fight between the scariest knockout artist and the greatest ever to step in a UFC octagon is a recipe for a mega-fight. However, getting deals of this magnitude is easier said than done.

‘The Soldier of God’ Yoel Romero is one fighter who knows ‘Bones’ well. The two men trained together briefly at Jackson Wink MMA and remain friends even though Romero does not train there anymore. In a recent interview, Romero spoke about his friend’s move up to heavyweight and revealed how he thought it would play out.

‘The Soldier of God’ gave his prediction for the fight. “Oh, my prediction? Johnny. 100% Johnny. Maybe the love close my eyes, you know? Because I love Johnny. But when you see the athlete, Johnny is more intelligent. Johnny knows the way to victory. That’s Johnny, he is a very smart guy.”

Will Richard Schaefer be the trump card for Jon Jones?
The talks between Jon Jones and the UFC hit a standstill because of disagreement in pay. There were a lot of numbers thrown around as to what Jones was demanding and what the UFC was prepared to pay. However, it appears the numbers were too far apart for a fight to materialize.

‘Bones’ recently announced that he had acquired the services of the man behind the success of Golden Boy Promotions, Richard Schaefer. He has been in the business for a very long time and has decades of experience in brokering the toughest deals. Furthermore, as he is someone that White respects immensely, he could be the trump card in future discussions with Jones and the UFC.
