Several fighters and fans alike shared their opinion on that fight. A certain guy named Henry Cejudo too had something to say about the fight.

He wrote, Hey 50 – 1 @FloydMayweather imagine what an Olympic gold medalist would do to a guy who lost to a YouTuber. You wouldn’t make it past two rounds with me.”

This isn’t the first time that Cejudo has challenged the boxing legend. Back in April this year, the MMA great posted a tweet where he challenged the boxer for a showdown.

Cejudo (16-2) had announced his retirement from MMA in May 2020. He had successfully defended his bantamweight title against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249.

Although retired, he has constantly iterated his wish to compete again inside the combat sports ring.

When manager Ali Abdelaziz talked about Henry Cejudo vs Floyd Mayweather

Abdelaziz knows a thing or two about what’s going on behind the scenes in the MMA world. He is one of the best managers and promoters of the game and has managed some of the best to ever lay their foot inside the octagon.

He had appeared for an interview where he pressed the idea of Cejudo facing Mayweather inside the boxing arena. “You know Dana posted a photo with Floyd and Henry jumped on it and I reached out today,” he said.

“I’m like; I said I’m a Muslim healer he smiled you know, listen, I’m sure Dana’s working on something with Floyd and Sakakibara.”

He added, “But listen, Henry Cejudo, he has some boxing fights in the past, people don’t know this.”

“If we’re gonna have Jake Paul fighting Ben Askren. Why don’t have two GOATs Henry Cejudo and Floyd Mayweather fight each other?

“I think it makes a lot more sense than having Jake Paul fighting Ben Askren. I’m not saying it’s a bad fight. If Henry’s going to fight Mayweather it should happen, I think people would pay to watch this,” he concluded.

Well, it could be a great contest if ‘Triple C’ faces the Olympic medalist inside the boxing ring. But Mayweather has already been retired from active boxing and his latest fight against Paul was an exhibition affair. So, even an exhibition affair between the two legends will be a big treat to the eyes of combat sports fans.
