Rachel “Valkyrae” Hofstetter is one of the most popular streamers who is currently affiliated with the major eSports organization, 100 Thieves. She is the queen of the streaming circuit right now, having become the most-watched female streamer in 2020. Moreover, she also recently became the co-owner of 100 Thieves, alongside the likes of Nadeshot and Jack “CourageJD” Dunlop.

Valkyrae has been watched on YouTube for over 12.2 million hours, according to the statistics. She recently featured on the official music video for the song “DAYWALKER”, featuring Machine Gun Kelly and Corpse Husband.

On a recent stream, Valkyrae spoke about her childhood and how she got into streaming. While she did so, she let fans in on how she feels indebted to her mother for everything she has in her life right now. According to the celebrated streamer, her mother got into the world of gaming. She added that she has always been more of a tomboy and that she has been interested in gaming ever since she was a five-year-old.

On the stream, Valkyrae says,

“My mom is the one who got me into video games. And if she never got me into video games at a young age, I wouldn’t be where I am today… So, I feel super indebted to her, you know… I would not be where I am today if she was one of those, you know, crazy moms that wanted to dictate my whole life and made me do things I didn’t wanna do.”

Valkyrae adds that both her parents were pretty lenient and easygoing and that she is lucky to have them. However, growing up, she had had her fair share of issues back home. She mentions that she had never “bonded” with her parents, especially with her father. On top of that, her household dealt with issues like alcoholism and fights in the family. However, she says that she still felt loved, and she adds that the situation “could always be worse”. 

Valkyrae talking about her mother is surely one of the most wholesome moments of her stream. A fan even went on to suggest that she should do a Q&A session with her mother, an idea which the streamer totally loved. Who knows, maybe we will get to see this idea materialize soon!
