In the year 2020, Jannik has had some fascinating victories over David Goffin on two occasions. The Italian also beat Alexander Zverev in the fourth round of the French Open, before losing to eventual champion, Rafael Nadal. After Jannik’s match against Zverev, the German went on to say that he should’ve skipped the match due to illness.

Taking a dig at the German, Sinner recently said, “What he said to at Roland Garros to explain his defeat is a contradiction: he had a fever, but in the third and fourth set he ran more than before? Boh. These speeches Nadal and Federer do not make them.”

It’s no secret that Zverev is his senior and has achieved more than him, given that the German’s career began much earlier. Jannik did not ignore that fact and stated, “He has won more than me, he has more experience, but I respect him.”

Jannik Sinner has the right priorities

Such statements give an indication that the youngster surely has his head on his shoulders. At the age of 19, to have such a mindset says a lot about how focused he is on the court. Matters off the court don’t get the better of him. It’s very easy for players of that age to be distracted by a number of factors. If he continues in this manner, he can do wonders for himself.
