When Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife Kelly faced fertility challenges, in vitro fertilization (IVF) helped them conceive their twin daughters in 2016. Since then, they’ve championed infertility support, and this week, their mission came full circle in a heartwarming way.

On Wednesday, Kelly shared a heartwarming Instagram post. She reposted a message from the Brilora Fertility Foundation announcing the birth of a baby named “Stafford” in honor of her family. Kelly added the caption, “Welcome baby Stafford ❤️❤️❤️,” celebrating a moment that reflects their journey and kindness.
The newborn, Stafford Torrey, was born to Jakob and Mikayla, recipients of the 2024 Brilora Stafford IVF Grant. The couple chose the name “Stafford” as a heartfelt tribute to Matthew and Kelly, a gesture that speaks volumes about the impact their support has had. It’s incredible how one act of kindness can ripple outward and change lives forever.

In their post, the Brilora Fertility Foundation further shared the emotional update: “He’s here! Jakob and Mikayla… have welcomed their beautiful baby boy, and our hearts are overflowing with joy.”
The Foundation further described baby Stafford as “a reminder of what’s possible when hope meets compassion.” Baby Stafford’s story stands as a touching example of how love and generosity can create miracles – one family at a time. So, while the Staffords’ experience with IVF changed their perspective, it also inspired them to help others walking a similar path.

Over the years, the Staffords have built a large and lovely family together. They have four daughters: twins Sawyer and Chandler, Hunter, and Tyler. But the Stafford family’s continued efforts to help others build families through fertility support have not stopped.

Through Chosen Fertility Group, Matthew and Kelly Stafford now fund two IVF grant programs. One operates through the Michigan Center for Fertility & Women’s Health, and another supports patients within 40 miles of Los Angeles. Their efforts don’t stop there.

Earlier this year, they stepped into the spotlight at Chosen Fertility’s “In the Spirits of Infertility” gala in Los Angeles, backed by HRC Fertility. With one in six couples struggling to conceive, the Staffords know how important it is to break the silence.

Kelly, who now serves as board chair of Brilora Fertility Foundation, spoke candidly about the emotional weight of infertility.
“Even though it’s been years since our own experience with infertility, it’s a community you belong to forever,” Kelly said.
Moreover, off the field, Matthew Stafford and his wife are leading a different kind of fight – one rooted in empathy and hope. From generous donations to ongoing advocacy, the Stafford family’s mission is changing lives far beyond football. And now, with baby Stafford Torrey’s arrival, their story has come full circle – proof that love and generosity truly create miracles.
