After the conclusion of the Tokyo Olympics, tennis has reached the North American region. Players such as Naomi Osaka and Aryna Sabalenka are the top two seeds for the upcoming events in Toronto. These were the seeds as listed by Tennis Canada.

The Rogers Cup is going to be the first WTA 1000 event tournament prior to the US Open. Stars like Naomi Osaka, Aryna Sabalenka, Sofia Kenin, and others will be headlining the event. The tournament is scheduled to begin on the 9th of August and will be completed on the 15th of August.

The tournament was canceled last season due to the global pandemic. However, this season fans are allowed to attend the matches, and stadiums are allowed full capacity audiences. It will be great to see fans at the stadiums as things were looking incomplete seeing the top stars compete against each other in empty stadiums.

Naomi Osaka has had a mixed season so far

Naomi Osaka began her season on a great note, winning the Australian Open for the second time. After that, she has had dismal performances and was dealing with mental issues during the French Open. She later pulled out of the event prior to the second-round match.

Moving onto Sabalenka, she was last seen at the Tokyo Olympics. However, she underperformed as she lost in the second round to Donna Vekic. American player Sofia Kenin was last seen at the Wimbledon Championships, in which she lost in the second round.
