With each passing year, World No. 2 Naomi Osaka is cementing her name in the history books of tennis. Women’s tennis has found a player that can truly be considered one of the leading personalities and icons of the sport. Besides her success on the courts, the Japanese starlet enjoys the fame off the courts as well.
Recently, Osaka shared an interesting story about her Glamour magazine cover. While she was serving her 14-day quarantine period at the Australian Open this year, she shot her cover pictures all by herself. The Japanese player surely knew how to make use of the time available to her.

Naomi Osaka reveals her self-shot Glamour cover
Interestingly, Osaka didn’t just shoot the pictures herself; she was responsible for the entire operation of styling, editing, and designing her outfit for the shoot.
In the post, Naomi is seen wearing a pair of loose jeans, combined with a full-sleeved black top. She also donned a pair of shiny sneakers and a funky cap carrying the iconic Louis Vuitton print.

The tennis star posted the picture on Twitter, captioned, “Fun fact: I shot these by myself while quarantining for the Australian Open.”

Moving on from Australian Open win
Coming to tennis, the Japanese star began this season on a high note by winning the Australian Open. During the tournament, she beat her idol, Serena Williams, en route to the final. She then beat American tennis player Jennifer Brady in the finals to win her second Australian Open title and fourth Grand Slam title.

After the Australian Open, Osaka has not played a tournament and will headline the WTA Miami Open. It will be the season’s first 1000 event, as the Indian Wells tournament has been postponed. In the previous season, both events were canceled as the world was dealing with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Osaka has never won at Miami and it will be interesting to see how the Japanese athlete performs and whether she is able to carry forward her Australian Open momentum.
