Mike Tyson Once Made Dale Earnhardt Jr Very Emotional With Basic NASCAR Trivia

When one thinks of Mike Tyson, one certainly does not associate him with NASCAR. However, it turns out Tyson does have some impressive knowledge about the motorsport.

Dale Earnhardt Jr once revealed how he was impressed that the former heavyweight champion knew his father’s nickname.

Back in 2018, Dale Earnhardt Jr had the opportunity to sit down with the legendary Mike Tyson, for one of his podcast episodes. During their conversation, Junior brought up the story of how his father, Dale Earnhardt Sr, lost his life at the Daytona Internation Speedway during the last lap of the race in 2001. Tyson interjected and stated Earnhardt Sr’s nickname, “The Intimidator.”

Sometime later, Junior stated, “I love that Mike Tyson knows his nickname.” Tyson then stated, “I can see him with the glasses on, looking at people, psyching them out.”

However, Junior was highly emotional to find out that the legendary Iron Mike knew who his father was, and the podcast surely made his day.

Junior was asked to describe what went through his head when his car would take off during high-speed impacts. The NASCAR Hall of Famer had a rather interesting take on the entire experience.

While any person would fear for his life under such a circumstance, Junior stated that he was never scared. He also said that he always had this thought lingering in his mind that he would not be able to explain to anyone the exact feeling he felt during such crashes.

In short, he described the feeling to be the “weirdest thing,” one could experience. This was considering how heavy the car was and the fact that something like that could completely take off was astounding to him.

Hearing Junior’s thoughts, Tyson stated, “I get nervous driving on the highway going 130” in comparison to Earnhart Jr, feeling no fear even after a 200mph crash.
