NASCAR Fans Call Out F1 for Copying Their Iconic Trophy Design

There’s a very thin line between inspiration and imitation. An inch to the left, an inch to the right, that’s all there is. Perhaps, the same theory could be applied to the recent trophy Formula 1 revealed for the French Grand Prix winner and its ‘connection’ to the one the Dover winner gets in NASCAR.

Yes, the Monster Miles trophy seems to have inspired the French GP winner’s trophy.

As for where the line between inspiration and imitation lies on this one, well, NASCAR fans didn’t need telling. They already knew, right out of the gates as they pointed that resemblance out.

Can the NASCAR champ beat the F1 champ at the prestigious sports award?

It was recently reported that defending NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson got nominated for the ESPY award thanks to his 10-race winning season in 2021 that earned him his first Cup title.

But so was Max Verstappen, who took part in one of the most thrilling, if not the most thrilling title battles in F1 history.

Speaking about his nomination, the Hendrick Motorsports driver expressed his gratitude and desire to win the award as a representative of NASCAR on the global stage.

“I know there’s been a lot of NASCAR drivers to win the awards. So my fingers are crossed that I could win that. That would definitely be one of the coolest awards I could win,” he said.

Larson emphasized that just being nominated is a great honor for him, but if beats Verstappen, nothing would be sweeter. “If I was to win it and beat an F1 world champion as well as the other champions,” he added
