Earlier this year, Tony Stewart and Ray Evernham established the Superstar Racing Experience championship. The inaugural season wrapped up with Stewart clinching the championship. Now, reports suggest that the second season will be bigger and better than ever before. Apparently, Evernham and Stewart have big plans for the fledgling event.

Obviously, Stewart is thrilled that the series that he helped establish has been a roaring success. Some of the changes include more new venues for the 2022 edition of the series. Additionally, there will be a few star drivers making one-off appearances. Finally, there will be more sponsor branding positions on the SRX cars.

What else is the Superstar Racing Experience promising?

Some reports also reveal that there are plans to field an all women’s team. Also joining them could be a team consisting of NHRA drivers. On an interesting note, some rumours say that an F1 star could also be part of the star-studded line-up. Admittedly, nothing is confirmed yet, though there were suggestions about who the mystery F1 driver could be.

Some have reason to believe that 2009 F1 champion and ex-F1 driver, Jenson Button, is the driver. For the inaugural season, Mark Webber was included in the roster. However, he pulled out due to travel restrictions and schedule changes on the back of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hopefully, the Superstar Racing Experience gets a second chance to attract an F1 driver. Considering that he competed in the opening round of the Extreme E championship for his own team, it is a point in his favor. In other words, the Briton has some experience on the dirt racing arena, so he won’t be completely out of his depth. Whether that will make him a contender for wins is a different story altogether. One thing is for sure, the 2022 Superstar Racing Experience will be exciting.
