NASCAR’s Golden Boy Chase Elliott Admits He’s a ”Soft” Guy as He Comes Out of a Career-Altering Injury
Simply put, NASCAR is both thrill and entertainment for most of its fans, whether be it a controversial race, run-ins with the organization, or their favorite driver winning. While for this week’s entertainment, joins the returning Hendrick Motorsports driver, Chase Elliott!
After announcing his much-anticipated return to the Oval after a tragic accident earlier last month, the #9 Chevy driver is really stirring the pot with this one, revealing his other side on a popular YouTube channel.
Speaking on the popular The Pat McAfee Show, Hendrick’s speedster revealed his thoughts on being sidelined, his return to the track, and the different side that lets him be Chase Elliott.

Chase Elliott reveals his “soft” side while talking to Pat McAfee!
Pat McAfee is one of those unique YouTubers out there. His distinctive and enthusiastic style really makes him stand out from the rest. His super energetic aura and straightforward approach have fans take a liking, soon after his recent return announcement, the #9 ace speedster of Hendrick Motorsports was welcomed to the podcast.
Earlier in the show, Elliott briefly mentioned the road he took on his way back into the Oval, practicing on simulators while understanding the iconic Martinsville Speedway. After this the host had a peculiar question for the driver, citing a documentary featuring ace free-soloist Mark LeClaire, Pat compared the adventure sport to the fast lanes of NASCAR.
“Watching those humans operate is like, oh they have no fear, do you feel like you’re one of those types of people?” he asks. To which a cool yet witty Elliott replied, “No, I I think it’s very different, I dont think you’re gonna find me free climbing a icy canyon anytime soon,”
Commenting on Elliott, Pat said, “You’re soft,” Elliott said, “Definitely soft, you gotta be a little messed up I think to find that fun, right?”

With their ace driver out due to an unfortunate accident, fracturing his left leg, Hendrick Motorsports had to come up with a proper replacement and they had just the guy for that. Josh Berry is the man who came in replacing Elliott, as a full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series driver, Berry had the experiences factor in him, and following his spectacular performance in Circuit of The Americas and Richmond, the driver proved his mettle.
Even the NASCAR great and Hendrick Motorsports’ Vice President Jeff Gordon did not hesitate to shower praise on the driver for his stellar performance, “I feel like he [Berry] has done a great job every time he has been in a car.”

Now for the upcoming race in Martinsville, the driver has qualified in the 24th spot, understandably with the driver being off the tracks, and the event at Martinsville being a short 400 lap instead of the 500 laps may be a pretty sizeable hurdle for the returning driver.
