With the NASCAR season starting in a couple of weeks, there is a lot of buzz around. And recently one of the most popular drivers Chase Elliott added to that buzz by wishing for something that the MMA fighters have!

Chase spoke on a variety of subjects during a telephonic interview on the Heidi and Frank Morning Show. Interestingly, there were a few which caught some attention.

During the conversation, Frank asked him if he has any pre-race rituals that he goes through before the race, or if he follows something that would get him in the mood on the day of the race.

Chase Elliott left the hosts shocked with his answer

The Hendrick Motorsports star reply was as candid as it was unexpected. He said that there is honestly no such thing as a pre-race ritual and gave valid reasons for it. He emphasized that unlike many other sports, in racing, fans have a lot of access to the garage, pit road, and pre-race ceremonies. Secondly, the driver has a lot going on behind the scenes. Apart from prepping throughout the week for the race, the driver has also to be in touch with all sponsors.

He added, “Racing is—part of the time being a driver and part of the time being a partner and a spokesperson to our sponsors. And all of those things lead up so close to the race. It is very difficult to kinda disconnect and get your mind around until you get in the car.

“We do a lot of our prep throughout the week and the night before the race and all morning leading up to the event. You are busy taking care of your partners.”

The hosts were amazed and Heidi teased Chase if he at least had a pump-up song like the MMA fighters have when they walk in. To which, Chase replied, “No, [I] wish I did.”
