Mental fortitude is a key element for any sportsman. In NASCAR, it is not easy to stay relevant and consistent. One can achieve success only with the right mindset. Chase Elliott recently spoke about how staying competitive is the key to success in the sport.
Speaking to Deadspin recently, he said, “You are not gonna win the championship every year. But I think when you put yourself in contention, I think you’re setting yourself up to have a lot more fun than not.
“Even on the days that doesn’t necessarily go perfect or go your way, to be competitive, to be in the fight, to be amongst those top four or five guys each and every week, that to me is a good sign and one that typically indicates you are gonna have opportunities and eventually some of them are gonna go your way.”
