Oh boy, the Indy500 was a thrilling spectacle. The highly anticipated race had all the bells and whistles to go down as an action-packed blockbuster. The exciting race that had the Indianapolis Motor Speedway packed with fans was red-flagged 3 times amid frightening late crashes. NASCAR fans were taken aback when they witnessed the raw racing on display while drivers put on a hell-raiser of a show for the thousands in attendance.

With tires flying over and a thriller of a race, Indy500 certainly took the crowds on a merry adventure as Josef Newgarden reigned victorious amid the nail-biting incidents on the track.

Speaking about the incident that had the fans in awe, the aggressive nature of the race unfolded in the final laps of the race. With few laps remaining, Newgarden pulled off a quick pass on Arrow Mclaren’s Felix Rosenqvist that ticked off a chain reaction of events that had the crowd on the edge of their seats as tires went flying into the stands over the fence.

Not only was the event a runaway success but also a brilliant display of competitive racing. The 2.5-mile-long track saw action in plenty. With the coveted track packed with ardent fans, the race took on a serious note during the closing laps of the race.

While it was the favorite, Josef Newgarden took home the victory at the iconic 500-mile race. NASCAR fans, along with loyal racing fans, were shell-shocked when they had the real taste of the action inside the track. With just 17 laps to go, Newgarden put on a final rally as he overtook the #6 Arrow Mclaren driver.

This caused Rosenqvist to run wide into the outer wall as he briefly braced the wall and then onto the center of the track as he lost control of the car while an unsuspecting Kyle Kirkwood got the worst end of the spinoff. In an effort to slip the idle car, Kirkwood turned right. However, his left rear tire caught the Mclaren, and was sent flying over the fence into the stands.

Kirkwood, on the other hand, sped down the tarmac upside down as the brief collision had the Honda flip upside down. While the fans embraced the flying rubber headed their way, the tire safely landed in the parking space on top of another Chevy!

As Newgarden solidified his win, Kirkwood and Rosenqvist could only discontinue the race as the #6 car suffered a jammed steering column while Kirkwood’s race car had major damages to it. Later on, the unfortunate car owner, whose parked car suffered a thorough hit from the flying debris, shared her thoughts on the race.

The unfortunate one in the stands recalls the incident as her “snowball” suffered major damages while fans want the object as a souvenir

The race had even more action as it witnessed a severe 5-car pile-up later in the race. Robin Mathews‘ poor Chevrolet Cruze had to be towed away after the flying tire landed on her beloved car nicknamed “Snowball.” While the race saw Newgarden steadily climb the ranks as he closed the gap between Marcus Ericsson.

Fortunately for the fans in the stands, the tire missed them as it landed in the parking lot. Unfortunately for Robin Mathews, things did not go well as she was soon told that it was her “snowball” that got hit by the debris. Reacting to the incident, Mathews said, “I’m like, immediately my stomach dropped and I was shaking, just just nervous and anxious.

While she is thankful that no one got hurt during the incident, online fans started off a chain reaction, demanding the car and object be taken as a souvenir for the next season.
