The Daytona International Speedway has provided some of the finest races in the NASCAR Cup Series. Not just for NASCAR, it has served well for almost every motorsport event. Having said that, the track has also witnessed several horrific accidents, including the Dale Earnhardt Sr one. One such incident took place earlier this month and despite fears of the driver losing his life, he brings a heart-warming update for his fans.

The life of a motorsport racer is always at risk in their profession. More often than not, the unpredictable nature of the events on the track could lead to some deadly injuries. The Daytona hasn’t served well in this case for some of them and it was a similar case earlier this year.

One of the show Moonshiner’s cast members Josh Owens is a well-known figure in the motorbike racing arena. On March 4 this year, he was involved in a serious accident while racing at Daytona. The accident looked scary, as many among his followers feared his death, given the rumors on social media.

Luckily, those are just rumors as Owens is well alive but suffering from a broken leg. Given his strong following, fans rallied with their support and prayers. It is not the first time that he has severely injured himself. He has undergone plenty of surgeries before, but the accident this time around was quite brutal.

Much to his fan’s delight, he shared a heart-warming message for them. In his message, he couldn’t have been more thankful to God. He said, “I want everybody to know that I’ve been trying with everything that I got I can to be a man and man out to the situation and be as godly reasonable person as I can be during all this. Without God, I wouldn’t be here. I wouldn’t have been alive right now.”

Owens then thanked his followers for their enormous support. The emotional him said, “I am still here and I still love everybody and I can’t tell everybody how much it means to me and how much I appreciate everybody and how hard it is for me not to burst out in tears talking to you right now coz everybody is standing up for me right now. Everybody is standing up, standing for me, speaking out, and tell me how much they care and love me.”

It is incredible how strong Owens has remained so strong despite the brutal injury. It was unfortunate what happened to him as it did to two-time NASCAR Cup Series Kyle Busch at Daytona.

It happened when Busch was racing at Daytona in the 2015 NASCAR Xfinity Series. He got in a crash with his teammate, which ultimately saw him crash into a concrete wall. This injured both his left and right leg severely, making it difficult to get out of the car.

Speaking on “The Residency Podcast,” the Richard Childress Racing driver gave the details. He said, “And so after that like I’m trying to get out of the car, the car catches a little fire and I’m like I gotta get out I try to push it with my right leg and it’s just nothing you know. It’s yeah [like] spaghetti exactly, it’s like pushing a cooked noodle.”

His composure finally allowed him to get out of the car. Busch explained, “And then you know, I’m like, okay, I’ll use my left foot. I try to push with my left foot and I’m like, okay, left foot not good either. So, I just pulled myself up to the door sat on the door.”
