This was something that 23XI Racing driver, Kurt Busch, recently spoke about in an interview. The veteran driver shed some light on what is the approach both his bosses take with him and his teammate, Bubba Wallace.

“With MJ it’s fun. Denny is such an analytical guy, MJ is spiritual,” Busch said. “We know that you’re the right guy, we know we don’t have to question your talent, just go and do it. Denny is on the other end of can you fill out this report, I need this analytical thing.”

Denny Hamlin reveals why he has to ask Kurt Busch and Bubba Wallace to “shut up”

In a recent appearance on the Dale Jr. Download podcast show, Denny Hamlin spilled out the moment when he asked both of his drivers to keep their mouths shut.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver described how, instead of having a driver’s meet, they have a thing called “the 1948” of which their sponsors and VIP guests are a part of. But this is something that neither Busch nor Wallace were fond of.

“My drivers spout off to NASCAR about it, ‘Oh it’s just a waste of time, this is BS,’ whatever,” he said. But he revealed that he was having none of it. And in true Denny Hamlin style, he said what he felt needed to be said.

“Shut up, this is good for our team. This is how we talk to our sponsors,” the co-owner told his drivers.
