When Tyler Reddick was announced as a 23XI Racing driver from 2024, many speculated who will be the existing driver between Kurt Busch and Bubba Wallace who’ll make space for the RCR import. Some thought it’d be Busch, the veteran who is more or less, at the end of his career.

But there were some who also threw Wallace’s name in the mix as well.

Now here’s the thing: those speculations of Bubba Wallace getting the axe by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin can go to bed. This is because the #23 driver is reportedly near a contract extension, and not just any extension, one that will tie him with his team for a long time.

However, the report of Wallace getting a long contract wasn’t received well by the NASCAR fans.

Bubba Wallace is “super comfortable” at 23XI Racing at this moment

While this season has been somewhat of a misfire for Bubba Wallace, largely because of no fault of his own, the Talladega winner from 2021 still insists he is feeling good in his team. In fact, the words he used to describe his situation at 23XI in a recent interview were, “Super comfortable.”

“I told them from the get go I want to make this place home for a really long time. I can see myself retiring here,” he added.

Wallace admitted that he knows he must do better on and off the track to take his team to “greater heights.”

“We have the right people in place to do that,” he described.

This is something that he is, lately, more or less doing in a way. Wallace finished inside the top ten in the last two races, a first in his career, and right now, his eyes are locked on to the playoff berth, getting to which will take a miracle.

But hey, miracles exist.
