Earlier this month, Claremont Motorsports Park in New Hampshire was announced to host a race in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour 2022. The 150 lap race will take place on July 2022 and there’s a good reason for it to take place in this particular month.
As the track in Claremont prepared to open its gates one last time this year, it suffered heavy snowfall. The first Turkey Day Classic took place on Saturday afternoon at the circuit.

The event featured four divisions of racing – Street Stock, Mini Stock, Pure Stock, and Six Shooter classes. Fans were also treated to a Black Friday special ticket price of $10.
While some fans criticized the weather in the Reddit post, one has to agree that racing in these conditions presents a unique challenge. But it is also understandable why ‘the challenge’ is tougher for fans.
Yet fans can be all but sure that when NASCAR will come into town in July, the weather will be drastically different, hopefully, more pleasant.

The race in Claremont will be one of the 16 confirmed races in the 2022 edition. The next year’s race in Claremont will be promoted by JDV Productions, who are also promoting two other races.
Speaking after the announcement of the event, Josh Vanada, owner of JDV Productions, described his eagerness and excitement. He also revealed why fans wouldn’t want to miss out on the race.
“The long time between visits will provide an interesting challenge for those who may not have competed at the third-mile oval before. The track’s unique characteristics will put crew chiefs and drivers to the test. Fans will not want to miss this race,” Vanada said.

Next year will be the first time in 14 years that Claremont has featured on the Whelen Modified Tour schedule. In fact, NASCAR has only visited the track twice in their history for this series. The first time in 1985 and most recently in 2007.
