Everyone was surprised when Tyler Reddick dropped the bomb that he was heading to 23XI Racing in 2024. But what brought more attention to this was Kyle Busch ending his 15-year-long journey with Joe Gibbs Racing, to drive Reddick’s #8. And everyone was wondering whether Reddick will run to Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan a year early. Especially after Childress declared he’d run another car for Reddick, which the fans thought was just a ploy to get 23XI to take his contract.

It seems the fans were right, after all!

Rumour suggests, Reddick’s contract has already been taken out of RCR and moved to 23XI Racing. NASCAR writer, Lee Spencer Tweeted, Hearing @TylerReddick‘s contract has been bought out from @RCRracing and he will join @23XIRacing next year. Announcement expected this weekend at @LVMotorSpeedway #NASCAR

It seems the fans have no doubt this is true. Interestingly, though, they believe this announcement proves JGR didn’t want to hold Kyle Busch, to begin with!

Interestingly, Joe Gibbs recently said they tried their best to hold Busch, but they weren’t able to. Yet, the fans did not believe a word he had to say.

NASCAR fans call out Joe Gibbs for lying

In a recent interview, Gibbs talked about how hard JGR tried to keep him in the team. But he’s still happy about the RCR seat.

“When you think about it with us, 15 years, that was awesome,” Said Gibbs“I just really appreciate that so much. We know Mars is leaving, but that was a thrill to be with them for that amount of time.”

But then again, he got a seat at RCR, “I just think we worked hard to get everything done there. We couldn’t. I think he’s found a home, and I’ll be willing to bet he’s going to be after it next year, and he’s going to want to win a bunch of races.”

Well, we will never really know what happened. But if the Tyler Reddick deal turns out to be true, it could give more favour to the fan theory than what Gibbs said.
