Famous people often find rumors about them floating around. Well, sometimes that comes as one of the unwanted add-ons with the perks. Today, sports personalities like NASCAR drivers and team owners do go through the same, thanks to their massive following. And recently, Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports, FOX reporter Bob Pockrass, along with drivers like Alex Bowman, and Kyle Larson had to deal with a similar rumor situation.

As we know, the new update on Twitter allows anyone to have a ‘blue tick’. And it was this that led to all the confusion. Taking advantage of the whole blue tick debacle, someone used the famous NASCAR reporter Bob Pockrass’s name, or rather something very similar, to share a piece of fake news on Twitter.

They shared an image of Rick Hendrick and Kyle Larson with a caption, “Announcement from HMS today, due to the Alex Bowman incident going forward Rick Hendrick says he will ban all NASCAR sanctioned racing from his drivers. This includes Kyle Larson from any dirt events. No comments from drivers yet.”

Bob Pockrass’s hilarious take on the fake news involving Rick Hendrick and others

This fake update created a lot of noise in the NASCAR community, as it involved pretty prominent people. The news, however, about the ban on Hendrick Motorsports drivers to take part in dirt events was a complete fake. This rumor comes after Alex Bowman was in a terrible crash a few days ago in a dirt race event that had left his rival in a “bent like a banana” situation. Moreover, everyone is well aware of Chase Elliott’s snowboarding injury that kept him out of the Cup Series races for six weeks.

So naturally Kyle Larson’s name got involved as he loves racing on the dirt tracks and is also a Hendrick Motorsports driver.

To clear all the confusion, Bob Pockrass, the real one, shared a rather humorous post on his Twitter. He shared the fake news post as tagged by a fan and informed everyone about it. He wrote, “Yes. My last name ends in a-s-s… any account with an additional “s” is fake.”

The way Pockrass helped the NASCAR world to distinguish between real and fake accounts cracked the fans up.

NASCAR fans were amazed by Bob Pockrass’ explanation

Bob Pockrass’ witty post on his Twitter account prompted some interesting comments from fans. While some had a good laugh at his hilarious mention of the number of ‘s’ in his name spelling, another user complained about Twitter owner Elon Musk’s decision about the blue ticks. One fan even tagged another page on the post, inquiring if they were behind this prank using Pockrass’s name.

“Never thought of Bob’s last name in that light before lol”

“I will keep that in mind. Thanks Bob!”
