At the Richmond Raceway, Ross Chastain managed to annoy yet another driver with his antics. This time, it was Christopher Bell in the #20 Joe Gibbs Racing car. As a result, Bell called the #1 driver a ‘wrecking ball’ who came in with a banzai move. Owing to that, Bell and the #24 of William Byron lost out and had their races compromised. However, Trackhouse Racing team owner Justin Marks enjoyed what the entire ordeal had in store for the NASCAR world.

After the Sunday race, a disappointed Bell told the media, “The banzai came in and put us three-wide. Yeah, definitely a long run car, which is our motto. Our #20 group does well on long runs pretty much everywhere we go, so needed to stay green. The wrecking ball came in and made us three-wide at the last second. There wasn’t enough room to be three-wide.”

“Obviously, the Camrys were all super fast, the #11, #19 and me were all up front. So that was very positive.”

Christopher Bell thought that Joe Gibbs Racing could have won

According to him, this was a track that was generally kind to JGR. So the #20 driver genuinely felt that there was a chance of victory, or at least a decent result. Unfortunately, the race ended up being a Hendrick Motorsports show, with Kyle Larson winning. The 2021 Cup Series champion finished ahead of teammate Josh Berry, who is still deputizing for the injured Chase Elliott.

Bell had said, “Richmond, for whatever reason has been a great track for us for as long as I can remember. It was rewarding to get back in the Top 5 after a bad week last week. Hopefully one day, it’ll go our way. He didn’t do anything wrong, but that’s just his M.O. so I feel bad for the #24 because he probably didn’t get the memo that we were going to be three-wide. I barely got the memo that we were going to be three-wide. That’s just the way it always is”

Fans’ got really creative with Ross Chastain images, and Justin Marks loved it

Obviously, fans picked up on Bell’s wrecking ball comment and they had fun. With basic Photoshop skills, they showed the #1 driver being responsible for multiple disasters.

This ranged from several NASCAR accidents to more scenarios, like punting out F1 Champion Max Verstappen at Silverstone. The scenes even involved the #1 car in accidents where he was either nowhere near the scene, or was not even racing in NASCAR at the time. Then the scenarios grew more and more outlandish.

If there was one person who really loved this trend, it was Justin Marks. And seeing his tweet about how much he appreciated the ‘fan art’, a lot of fans jumped on the bandwagon and came up with some hilarious visuals.
