But why did Hendrick Motorsports start selling the dolls this year?

As shared by Sports Business Journal reporter Adam Stern, the product release of the plush dolls by HMS was possible with a new license deal with Orange Onions. A unique toy manufacturing organization, Orange Onions is known for its high-quality classic toys presented with a modern twist.

Prior to this year, Dale Earnhardt Jr’s JR Motorsports was responsible for handling HMS’ licensing business. However, this year, Hendrick Motorsports brought the rights back and started offering the plush dolls in-house.

NASCAR fans react to the unveiling of the dolls

As soon as the news about HMS driver plush dolls surfaced online, NASCAR fans started discussing them in the comments section. While some fans were clearly excited about seeing their favorite drivers transformed into cute stuffed toys, some others questioned why the dolls did not resemble the drivers clearly. In fact, one fan joked that all of them looked like Chase Briscoe with different hair colors.

Moreover, a few others pointed out how the Chase Elliott plush doll looked a lot like Dale Earnhardt Jr. And how most of them closely resembled Chase Briscoe.
