“All Ya Can Do is Laugh” – Bubba Wallace’s Reaction Sums Up His Unlucky NASCAR Outing at COTA

Unlucky would be an understatement for Bubba Wallace when it comes to his recent races. The man has got into so many unlucky incidents lately that they can’t even be counted. His loss of transmission just before the race in the Circuit of the Americas is one more example.

NASCAR was in COTA for the sixth round of the Cup Series where unfortunately Bubba did not feature and ended up in 38th place. With a DNF and just 2 points on board the outing hasn’t been great for the man.

The 23XI Racing driver suffered yet another technical difficulty and could just sit there and watch Ross Chastain take the victory. The driver then took to Twitter to share his disappointment.

 

Talking about Bubba’s technical issue, Bob Pockrass, NASCAR journalist for FOX Sports conveyed, “Sounds like Bubba Wallace has lost second gear. Team doesn’t sound optimistic that transmission will last through the end of the race.”

How was the race at COTA for Bubba Wallace?

This damage to the transmission ultimately made Wallace Jr. retire citing a technical failure. The race at COTA ended in disruption for him with a tire failure as he slumped to 20th position on the leaderboard with 122 points.

The race was won by Trackhouse Racing’s Ross Chastain. He started from 16th on the grid and led 31 laps before taking the chequered flag.

As for the leaderboard, Chase Elliott continues to lead the driver’s championship with 208 points after picking up 37 points in the last race. Chase is followed by Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano who are on 195 and 185 points, respectively.

NASCAR goes to Richmond for the seventh round of the Cup series. After incident-filled six rounds, it’ll be interesting to see if Bubba Wallace can pull something off from here.  Only time will tell if Bubba has still got it inside him.
