NASCAR is getting desperate, as inclement weather halted the playoff race in Texas yet again. On Sunday, the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 NASCAR Cup Series race kicked off as scheduled, but only lasted 52 laps.
As it turned out, wet weather forced the officials to throw a red flag. Initially, the race was expected to resume on Monday; unfortunately, the weather was still uncooperative. Owing to this, NASCAR plans to restart the race again, on Tuesday at noon ET/11 am CT.
According to a NASCAR official statement:

Who will lead the pack if or when the NASCAR Cup Series race resumes?
When the race froze in its tracks, Clint Bowyer was the race leader at the time, with Jimmie Johnson behind him. The NASCAR veteran bagged the race lead during the opening stage when the third caution flag flew.
Both Bowyer and Johnson are competing in their last ever race in Texas, as they are retiring. However, Johnson is set to head to IndyCar in 2021, while Bowyer is swapping his steering wheel for a microphone.

After a few ginger circulations around the track, the officials finally decreed that the conditions were too treacherous. As a result, they promptly made the decision to postpone the race. Unfortunately, Monday also passed without a single tire touching tarmac. Now, the drivers have to suffer another painstaking wait to go racing once again.

Truthfully speaking, the sport is desperate to get this race done before the coming weekend’s race at Martinsville. Even the drivers will want to go racing in Texas, as missing it would lessen their chances of making the Championship 4. Joey Logano already sealed his slot in the last race, and the pressure is on the remaining seven drivers to book the 3 places left.
