Ross Chastain’s wall-riding daredevil move has already become of the one most talked about moments in NASCAR. Almost everyone enjoyed it, including Hendrick Motorsport owner Rick Hendrick, until he realized what that meant for his team.

NASCAR journalist Dustin Long stated, “#NASCAR … I asked Rick Hendrick what he thought of Ross Chastain’s last-lap move at Martinsville. Rick said: “I thought it was neatest thing I ever saw until I realized he knocked us out of the owner’s championship.”

Hendrick realized that Chastain’s crazy move managed to kick his team out of the owner’s championship and that is where his excitement turned into sadness. Larson was already knocked out of the playoffs but, Elliott sitting last in the championship four isn’t much help either.

Kyle Larson found the Ross Chastain move to be embarrassing

Meanwhile, not everyone was enjoying Chastain pulling off that big brain move. Kyle Larson was one such a driver who straight out called it to be an “embarrassing” move.

Larson had stated, “It’s not just a good look. Not a good look. … It’s embarrassing.” In addition, he also asked the people who found it to be a fair move, why did they think that way.

Larson and a few other drivers later on even went ahead to ask NASCAR to completely ban such a move from ever taking place again. In the Hendrick Motorsport driver’s view, the move gave Chastain an unfair advantage over the field and that others who never thought of such a thing would always lie in a state of disadvantage.
