Dale Earnhardt Jr, Amy Earnhardt: Fears, strengths and togetherness

Amy Earnhardt is a wife, mom, “professional pillow,” and co-owner of High Rock Vodka. Anything she does, she does well. The wife of Dale Earnhardt Jr seems nothing less than a superwoman who can really hold her own. However, there are a few things she struggles with.  While we all know that Amy Earnhardt gets nervous during shoots, owing to her perfectionism, it seems she also gets scared watching horror films.

In a story on Instagram, she wrote, “Has anyone seen The Substance? Don’t watch it. It’s fucked up. I am gonna have nightmares.“The Substance” is a 2024 body horror film by Coralie Fargeat. It follows fading celebrity Elisabeth Sparkle, played by Demi Moore, who, after being let go by her producer, turns to a black market drug to regain her youth. This transformation into a younger version of herself, portrayed by Margaret Qualley, brings unexpected and disturbing side effects.

While we wonder if Dale Earnhardt Jr is also having nightmares alongside Amy, we do know he has a unique fear of his own – Kosmemophobia. He has shared that this phobia was exacerbated during his childhood when his sister, Kelley Earnhardt Miller, would playfully chase him with necklaces.

In a 2018 interview, Dale Earnhardt Jr. opened up about his choice to wear a distinctive silicone wedding ring. He attributed this decision to a childhood experience that contributed to his intense fear. Leading up to the 2015 Daytona 500, Dale Jr. shared that his sister, Kelley Earnhardt Miller, exacerbated his anxiety. He said with a laugh. “It’s creepy to me. (Earnhardt Miller) made it worse. She definitely antagonized me and terrorized me when I was younger.”

Additionally, he often felt intimidated around his father, Dale Sr., and his crew members, which added to his anxiety.

In a recent episode of The Dale Jr Download, Dale Jr. recorded another of Amy’s fears. “This also could be a pet peeve and fear, but it’s my driving…She doesn’t like my driving.” Then Amy retorted, scoring no goal in Dale’s favor: “Neither do our children.”

The Earnhardt Jr’s 2024

In the Dale Jr. Download episode 597, Dale and Amy Earnhardt shared the business of 2024 and how the two handled it differently. From vacations to parties and downtime, they bared it all. Amy called the holiday season dynamic and said that it tired her.

Dale Jr. said, “It was my 50th birthday in October; we went a little extra hard on traveling, doing, and seeing things. I didn’t want to party. I wanted experiences. So we went to Europe a couple of times and Mexico and Cabo and Missouri.”

Amy Earnhardt also shared that Dale Jr. often went on hunting trips with friends, which felt like mini celebrations in this period. While she enjoyed these outings, she longed for personal downtime afterward. Dale noted he and Amy are different now, reminiscing about their early days when she could keep up with him on their adventures, especially during their extended trips to the Keys.

Amy said, “I am eight years younger than you. I had the kids. I feel like my wheels just fall off, and I need just like to go in a dark closet and hide from everybody for a couple of days.

Amy Earnhardt is 42 years old, an interior designer, and a co-owner of a business. On April 30, 2018, the couple celebrated the arrival of their first child, Isla Rose Earnhardt. They welcomed their second daughter, Nicole Lorraine Earnhardt, in October 2020. The name Nicole holds special significance, as it is taken from Amy’s middle name, while Lorraine honors Dale Jr.’s mother.

The couple also celebrated their anniversary, which falls in December. Reflecting on the surprise trip to Anguilla, which Dale Jr organized, Amy expressed her appreciation, saying, “Still surprises me on Christmas with that, which he nailed. You did a great job.

The duo might fear certain things in life; they are taking on life’s scariest challenges head-on. The couple married on New Year’s Eve 2016 after getting engaged in Germany in 2015.
