If one thing is evident by this point, multiple fans and rival teams feel would agree that Hendrick Motorsports gets away with the worst of situations and it seems like NASCAR has an affinity for them. As the appeals panel recently delivered the news surrounding SHR’s controversial penalty appeal, multiple fans clamored over social media to express their anger while comparing this situation with how Hendrick Motorsports gets away with most of their problems.

After hearing SHR’s appeal for the penalty issued against the 41 car, NASCAR decided to keep Cole Custer’s punishment unchanged. At the moment, his penalty still remains at a fine of $100,000 and 50 points being docked. NASCAR’s main argument was that he was penalized under section 5.5 as inscribed in the NASCAR Rule Book. Since Custer and his crew chief had intentionally altered the outcome of the race via manipulation, they apparently had the right to take any action against the SHR driver.

However, what many find hilarious in this argument is that such could also be said when William Byron purposefully spun Denny Hamlin around, he should have received the equal punishment and not get his appeal accepted. Hendrick Motorsports paid almost double the fine, but their points were not rescinded, making fans speculative.
