Since the Cup Series race at Bristol, Kevin Harvick and Chase Elliott have been at each other’s throats. At the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, the two of them clashed yet again. On this occasion, Harvick came off as the big loser, and he was downright furious. Obviously, Chase Elliott was also extremely angry with Harvick, so the blame game continued.

After the Charlotte race, fellow NASCAR driver Parker Kligerman interviewed the Stewart-Haas Racing driver. He asked, “That incident with the #9, was that retaliation for Bristol? Are you guys even?”

At that point, Harvick simply elected to walk away and leave the question hanging.

What did Kevin Harvick say about his renewed rivalry?

The incident took place with 10 laps to go, so there was definitely some tension. He said, “I just pushed it in there a little too hard and I got the tyre locked up, I couldn’t stop it. Once I felt like I needed to go to get a couple of spots back that I lost. I locked up and I couldn’t get it to turn. Sometimes real life teaches you good lessons.”

Meanwhile, Elliott also dodged the question and insisted that he was just happy to move to the next Playoff round. When pressed about the incident and potentially seeking revenge, Elliott and Harvick gave the diplomatic answer. To be precise, they affirmed that they were focusing on the coming race weekend at Texas.

However, the Hendrick Motorsports driver could not resist a parting shot. He cheekily wished Harvick a ‘merry off-season and a happy Christmas.’

With all the so-called pleasantries out of the way, Elliott will be thinking about the next three Playoff races. This is because, those races will decide the Championship 4 at the season finale at the Phoenix Raceway. Without a doubt, Chase Elliott will be keen to clinch a second consecutive Cup Series title.
