Spire Motorsports’ lightning charge forward
Fielding two cars on the grid, Spire’s star driver, Corey LaJoie, has time and again proved the mettle of the team. Season after season the No. 7 team has outperformed their previous year’s accomplishments with LaJoie’s current season standing out as one of his career’s finest, boasting three top-10 and two top-5 finishes, setting personal bests for himself in the Cup Series and for Spire as a whole.
Jeff Dickerson, the driving force behind Spire Motorsports, shared his thoughts on their journey and future plans. He acknowledged the constant need to prove themselves, to silence the doubters who question their capabilities. “We want to be a playoff car, we want to be winners,” he declared. It’s clear that Spire Motorsports is hungry for more success, looking to break out of the mode where their efforts are met with skepticism.
Talking about competing with the big guns of the Cup Series, Jeff spoke with determination, “But I think we’re making strides.” He acknowledged that everyone in the series has stepped up their game, but so have they.

Jeff Dickerson on Spire’s unwavering bond with Hendrick Motorsports
When questioned about the nature of their relationship with both Trackhouse Racing and Hendrick Motorsports in the upcoming season, Jeff was quick to clarify. “Our relationship with Hendrick continues,” he affirmed with a sense of loyalty. “We are still with Hendrick, and we have our technical alliance with them. But it was Jeff’s heartfelt acknowledgment of Rick Hendrick‘s unwavering support that truly stood out. He reflected on their unique bond, describing it as a mentorship that went beyond business. “Mr. Hendrick has always treated me like his illegitimate son,” Jeff revealed. “He has always been there, pushed, and answered the phones. Any dumb idea that I have, he’s right there to show me that there’s a way through those things.”
Looking ahead, Jeff assured fans and enthusiasts that, despite the significant developments, the core of their Cup program would remain familiar. “Pit crews, at least on two of the cars, pit crews will be through there, technical data will be through there. As far as we’re concerned, the show goes on with Hendrick.”
As the engines rev and the upcoming season looms large, fans will be watching whether their ambitious plans translate into victory on the track and become a force to be reckoned with in the world of stock car racing.
