However, Wallace is certainly not one to shy away and places immense self-confidence in himself. So, a reunion with Toyota might just work out well for the 27-year-old.

Speaking recently in a brief interview, Bubba highlighted that winning two races was more of a personal goal for him. But the more important objective for him and the team is to get ‘better and better’ with every passing week.

I can dream big, says a determined Bubba Wallace

Wallace stated, “Yeah, I think you know, I kept saying two races, and then that’s what I talk about within my inner circle of it being a personal goal, really. I don’t know if that puts pressure on the team to go out and do that.

“And if we look at the end result like, ‘man we didn’t get two wins, we failed.’ Like no!”

The former Richard Petty Motorsports driver has gained some vital Cup experience in the last few years. Along with Denny Hamlin’s mentoring, the 23XI Racing driver would want to start winning races and consistently getting top-five finishes to take that all-important next step.

He continued, “As long as we get better and better each week, you know. I think we really had good meetings to talk about expectations and whatnot. And to figure out the direction we’re heading.”

“But for me personally, I can dream big and so I don’t want to get that mixed up,” concluded Wallace on the subject.

Qualifying for the playoffs in his first season would be a huge achievement for Wallace

Wallace’s first aim will be to secure a decent result in the Daytona 500. With the season opener approaching and races coming thick and fast following that, a good sustained run in the regular season would do him the world of good.

Should he win the two races, it would set up a wonderful platform for him to also qualify for the playoffs. Entering the Round of 16 would certainly prove to be an incredible accomplishment.

But as things stand, the team debuting in 2021 will first target to showcase their best possible efforts. Gradually then, both 23XI Racing and Wallace would look to create something special for their fans.
