Owing to the increase, the total purse now stands just shy of the $2 million mark. Apparently, the move was taken in order to accommodate the larger field and make up for increased travel costs. Admittedly, the number of races has not changed, but the addition of the LA Coliseum adds an extra travel destination.

The Latino rapper is expected to perform before the race and DJ Skee will perform during cautions. Meanwhile, Ice Cube will perform during the breaks between races.
